Farhad Amiri, DO
Dr. Farhad Amiri is an Interventional Psychiatrist and the founder of Modern Mind Clinic. He holds active licenses in Michigan and Nevada. Dr Amiri has privileges on the inpatient unit at McLaren Oakland Hospital where he treats adults and geriatric patients. Dr. Amiri treats patients from all backgrounds. He is a firm believer of modern interventions to treat people who do not respond to traditional treatment approaches and is an expert in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, an FDA approved procedure for treatment-resistant depression. Dr. Amiri is passionate about helping others achieve happiness and personal growth through mindfulness, therapy, and lifestyle considerations that empower individuals to improve their wellbeing and create permanent change.
Dr. Amiri completed his bachelor’s degree at the University of Nevada. He received his master’s and medical degree from Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Amiri completed his residency training in Detroit at MSU – Authority Health. In addition, Dr. Amiri is a graduate of the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute where he completed a fellowship. From 2016 to 2019, Dr. Amiri served as clinical faculty at Michigan State University.
In his free time, Dr. Amiri enjoys spending time with his family, exploring new restaurants, and golfing.
Andrew Spitzer, PMHNP-BC
Andrew Spitzer is an empathetic and compassionate board-certified mental health nurse practitioner. For over 10 years, Andrew has been caring for individuals who struggle with a wide variety of mental health concerns in different settings. Andrew’s practice and philosophy are guided by three tenets: people are not always the cause of their problems, people want to change and feel better, and people are capable of change.
Andrew works to build rapport and instill confidence in his clients by offering individualized plans of care and by utilizing pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. With this partnership grounded in evidenced-based psychotherapy and psychoeducation, Andrew works to encourage the client to become an agent of change and obtain overall wellness and peace.
Andrew completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oakland University. He received his Master of Science in Nursing from Wayne State University. He is board-certified in psychiatric mental health throughout the lifespan by American Nursing Credentialing Center. Through his academic and professional career, he has trained in different settings with all levels of client acuity.
In his free time, Andrew enjoys listening to music, playing guitar, reading, binge watching shows, exercising, culinary arts, and socializing with friends and family. To provide the most effective and safest care, Andrew continues his education by staying up to date with newest/current evidenced-based interventions.
Zain Choudhry, MD
Hello, I’m Dr. Zain Choudhry, a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in adult psychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety, mania, psychosis, PTSD, panic, OCD, ADHD, substance use, and insomnia. Originally from Grosse Ile, Michigan, I developed a passion for mental health during my studies at the University of Michigan, where I majored in Brain, Behavior, and Cognitive Sciences. After earning my medical degree in 2018, I completed my residency in Detroit, gaining experience with diverse patient populations. Since then, I’ve focused on providing compassionate care in outpatient mental health clinics, tailoring treatment to individual needs. When not working, I enjoy tennis, basketball, staying active, and relaxing with music and movies. I’m dedicated to creating a supportive environment for my patients and look forward to continuing this meaningful work at The Modern Mind Clinic.
